SENIOR HIGH NEWS

Senior High Sunday Nights at the Twp. ~ Student Life!  Theme:  "Thanks for Sharing!"  We will also focus on how we as a high school ministry can begin to help those affected by the hurricanes.  We want to connect with you, pray for you, just hang out, and live life with you.  We believe that living together is much better than being alone.  From 6:00-8:00 each week.  For more info about our senior high ministry, contact Jason Kauffman, our Family Pastor ~ jason@communitychristianchurch.com.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS MINISTRY LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS

This is a super-important (but easy) way to serve.  Our First Impressions volunteers greet guests, pass out programs, welcome people at the doors and collect offering.  If you enjoy meeting people, and are outgoing and friendly, we need you!  Volunteers serve once a month at either the 9:00 or 11:15 am service.  Contact Bob Sisson to volunteer ~  sissonbob7@gmail.com

COFFEE BAR SNACKS NEEDED EVERY 5TH SUNDAY

We're looking for volunteers to provide homemade snacks for our coffee bar at both services when we have a 5th Sunday.  If you can help with this, please e-mail Bob Sisson to volunteer ~ sissonbob7@gmail.com

WED. NIGHT GROUPS (ADULTS & KIDS) AT 6:30 PM

Elevate Jr. (Age 3-K) ~ Get on board for “Port of Call Jr.” Kids age 3-6 (fully potty trained, no pull-ups or diapers) can set sail with Sydney & Shelby on the cruise ship, Two By Two. Aunt Jesse is the captain, and the ship is ready to set sail for excitement IF Sydney & Shelby can learn to obey from stories about the life of Noah. Please Note: This class is only available for parents who attend Wednesday night small groups, worship team practice, or Creative Arts Meeting.

Elevate (Gr. 1-4) ~ "Port of Call" ... Come get on board!  The trip of a lifetime is waiting on the cruise ship "The Adventure."  Pack your bags, hoist the anchor, and join the crew as we pick up where we left off this past Spring and cruise through Paul's journeys.  Along the way we'll learn where, when, how & why we should spread the message of Jesus to everyone.  While on board we'll watch Captain Stern try to keep stow-aways-turned-crew-members, Rudder & Cuddy, from making a mess of the entire cruise.  Don't miss the boat!

Experience - Middle School (Gr. 5-8) ~ Join us for games, snack and the series “Perfectly Imperfect.” We’ll be looking at examples from the Bible that had flaws, but God still used them to make a big difference. We’ll look at how waiting on God’s timing is not easy, but will give us the best results. Our imperfections do not have to keep us from doing the will of God in our lives.

Young Families Small Group ~ Caleb & Kylie Payne, along with their 2 young children, want to start a new small group for families with young kids.  We'll begin with the church-wide series, "Love Where You Live," and then dive into more things that parents with young kids will find useful.  Meeting in Classroom #206.

Emotionally Healthy Marriage ~ Join the marriage group for a study that will help discover and heal wounds you may not even know exist.  Jeff & Aisia Chandler are leading this study.  Meeting in Classroom #300 (Modular building).

Raising Grateful Kids In An Entitled World ~ Join Scott & Regina Schroer as we learn how to lead and love our children in a Biblical way that teaches respect, responsibility, and the value of serving others.  Cultivate a spirit of true gratitude in your home.  Each chapter includes practical implementation tips for parents broken out by kids' age groups.  Meeting in Classroom #204.

"Love Where You Live" Small Groups.  We will have lots of groups at various times getting together to build on our September sermon series, "Love Where You Live."  We're asking everyone to find or form a group for those 4 weeks.  If you have questions, or need help finding a group, e-mail joel@communitychristianchurch.com

MIDDLE SCHOOL EVENTS...

September 29-30 ~ "Weird" Retreat at Camp Kern for grades 5-6.   Early registration of $80 has now been extended to Aug. 27th. Then the price will increase to $100 until Sept. 6th. From Sept. 6th-15 it will be $135. Theme: Inside Out.  Has your pre-teen ever had the thought, "What good am I?" or "Who needs God anyway?" or "What will God change if I put my faith in Him?"  This year, they are going to find out God changes us from the Inside Out!

October 20-22 ~ "One21 Retreat" at Butler Springs Christian Camp for grades 7-8.  Cost: $80 (A non-refundable $25 deposit is required, Retreat must be paid in full by Oct. 1).  Theme: This is Really About That ... Humans are interesting, weird creatures.  We want to be uniquely created, yet harmoniously connected.  Without an understanding of who we are becoming, we can't find peace with the world around us.  Without a community that loves us and chooses us, we won't find peace with who we are becoming.  At the One21 Retreat, we'll help you know that you are a loved, chosen citizen of a Kingdom that works seamlessly to create a world of grace and peace.  Sign up on our church website, or e-mail shellee@communitychristianchurch.com

12 STEPS CHRISTIAN SUPPORT GROUP MEETS ON WEDNEDAY'S

Life can be tough and sometimes we can't handle it alone ~ and God never intended for us to tackle life's difficulties by ourselves.  This group's purpose is to provide support to people who are struggling with various compulsive issues that rob them of the joy & peace that God has intended.  The group uses a Christian perspective on the 12 Step program.  Please contact Barb Levine at barbohio@gmail.com for more info, or click here.  We meet on Wednesday's at 6:45 pm at the Twp.  (Classroom #209)

EXTREME GENEROSITY "DOLLAR CLUB"

We are challenging every person who attends C.C.C. to put $1.00 per family member each Sunday into the Dollar Club box (located in the auditorium).  At the end of each month, the money that has been given will be counted and given to a person, organization, project or a specific need that could really benefit from seeing God's love without any strings attached.

How Can I Help?

  • Donate $1.00 per family member each week
  •  Volunteer to help us identify the needs
  •  Share needs that you know of in the community.
