"Believe" Conference (Gr. 7-8), Feb. 15-16. This weekend event is produced by Christ in Youth. Theme: "I Am," will help students explore their identity in Christ. The idea of identity is a universal struggle. Every generation wrestles with it. Jr. High students sit at a pivotal moment in their lives where they constantly ask, "Who Am I?" A student can't truly know who they are until they know who God is. "Believe" will help students understand what it means to find their identity in God. Cost: $125 if you sign up before Jan. 15th, after that date it's $150. Students may also bring $ for souvenirs (and ticket & dinner money if you plan to attend Winter Jam ~ see below).
Winter Jam, Feb. 16th. Fun Christian Concert at US Bank Arena. Cost: $15 + food. Families are welcome to join us! Newsboys United, Mandisa, Rend Collective, Ledger, Newsong & more! Students who attend "Believe" will go straight to Winter Jam. For people not attending "Believe," we will meet at church at 3 pm and return around 11:30 pm. RSVP to Shellee Alcorn ~ firstname.lastname@example.org.
"Super Start" Conference (Gr. 4-6), March 15-16. This weekend event is produced by Christ in Youth. This year's theme: "Conquering Gargantor ~ Overcoming Obstacles to Sharing Your Story." The truth is we all have a story to share, our own individual story that fits inside the greater story of God's love for all people. Psalm 105:1 helps us understand that sharing our story is as simple as "letting the whole world know what He has done." We know there are gargantuan obstacles preteens face. "Super Start" will help your child conquer 3 of the most common obstacles: 1) I don't have a story to share, 2) I'm afraid to share my story, 3) Why should I share my story? As we open God's Word and hear from real life American Ninja Warrior, Emily Durham, the goal is for every student to understand the stories they have to share. Cost: $115 if you sign up before Jan. 15th, after that date it's $140.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT SMALL GROUPS MEET AT 6:30 PM
Elevate Jr. (Ages 3-K) Join us for "Spy Chase!" Pogo, Dot & Agent O need your help to uncover why the people ot Spy City are not being friendly to each other. Put on your spy glasses and get ready to discover lessons on friendship from great friends in the Bible.
Elevate (Grades 1-4) Join us for "The Great Race," as champion racer Kip Daring goes head to head with the evil Dr. Despair. Along the way, children will learn what the Bible has to say about not giving up through the story of Nehemiah.
Middle School Ministry (Grades 5-8) We'll start with Game Night on Jan. 9th, then dive into a 5 week series, "Deep." When you're little, playing in the shallow end of the pool is fun. But as you grow, you want to try new things ~ like the diving board or slide. But in order to do those things, we have to move from the shallow end of the pool to the deep end. Our faith is the same way. If we want to experience all the good things God has for us, we must move from the shallow end to the deep end of our faith. And the key is staying focused on our lifeguard: Jesus. As we focus on Jesus, our confidence that He won't let us sink grows more each day, and before we know it, we've moved to the deep end of our faith.
Young Family's Small Group (Classroom 204) Caleb & Kylie Payne, invite families with young kids to join them. Come find community with us!
Marriage Group (Classroom 206) Join us for "Sex, Love & Communication," a 4 week study by Jimmy Evans. When you and your spouse were dating, communication happened naturally. When you're married, successful communication becomes intentional. The key to achieving the love & intimacy you desire is found within your words. Vibrant communication, romantic love, and fulfilling sex are more than just a fantasy, they can become a reality. Taught by John & Jeri Carroll.
"12 Step" Christian Support Group. Life can be tough and sometimes we can't handle it alone ~ and God never intended for us to tackle life's difficulties by ourselves. This group's purpose is to provide support to people who are struggling with various compulsive issues that rob them of the joy & peace that God has intended. The group uses a Christian perspective on the 12 Step program. Please contact Barb Levine at email@example.com for more info. We meet on Wednesday's at 6:45 pm at the Twp. (Classroom #209)
